Public Consultation: Have Your Say
Background
Planning permission was granted on appeal in May 2022 for the construction of 32 dwelling (including 5 self-build plots), public open space and associated infrastructure on land at The Ashes Farm, Barton (see aerial image above). Saddington Taylor are preparing a “reserved matters” application on behalf of Mr J P Lawson (Lawson Farms) and we are keen to hear your views on the proposed design. “Reserved matters” are those aspects of a proposed development which an applicant can choose to seek approval for at outline application stage or ‘reserve’ for later determination. In this instance, access was approved at outline stage so the application we’re currently preparing will seek approval of the proposed development’s scale, layout, external appearance. and landscaping. The development proposals would see the removal of all existing buildings and tall structures from the site together with cessation of the existing agricultural activities and HGV Operating Centre. The proposed development represents the final stage in the relocation of the farm to a new farmstead at Stonecrest to the south of the village, a process that was started some years ago.
