Saddington Taylor were commissioned by Gus Robinson Developments on behalf of Karbon Homes to submit a full planning application for the construction of 44 dwellings, garages and associated infrastructure on land at Yarm Road (opposite Killinghall Row), Middleton St. George. The application submission followed positive pre-application discussions with Darlington Borough Council’s Planning Officers.
The application was approved by the Council’s Planning Committee despite strong objections being raised by the Parish Council. Prior to the Planning Committee, Saddington Taylor worked alongside other members of the project team including NORR Architects and Portland Consulting Engineers, to overcome numerous design and technical challenges.
The approved scheme will deliver a range of family homes, which are available to purchase or rent, including an innovative ‘rent then buy’ option. Karbon Homes’ vision is to provide good-quality, affordable homes for local people.
Dr Adrian Marshall (landowner) praised Saddington Taylor’s involvement in the project:
“Saddington Taylor helped me to secure planning permission for 44 dwellings at Middleton St. George. The site has been sold and construction is well underway. I would highly recommend Saddington Taylor to anyone considering a development project but with little or no understanding of the planning process. They will guide you every step of the way with honesty and integrity.”
